WATER SUPPLY SYSTEM USE RESTRICTION PLAN

STAGE ONE

Conditions: Low snowfall, no rain.

Required Actions:

  • No outside watering during the heat of the day 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • The use of oscillating sprinklers is prohibited.

STAGE TWO

Includes all Stage One restrictions:

  • No outside watering during the heat of the day 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • The use of oscillating sprinklers is prohibited.

Conditions: No rain, hot/windy weather, no water at Ryus Bridge.

Required Actions:

  • West of Main Street: Outside hand watering allowed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • East of Main Street: Outside hand watering allowed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Sundays: No outside watering permitted town-wide.
  • Time Limits: Watering is strictly limited to 6:00 AM – 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

STAGE THREE

Includes all Stage One restrictions:

  • No outside watering during the heat of the day 9:00am – 6:00pm
  • The use of oscillating sprinklers is prohibited.

Conditions: Hot/dry, no rain, windy, no water at the Walsenburg Head Gate.

Required Actions:

  • West of Main Street: Outside hand watering allowed on Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.
  • East of Main Street: Outside hand watering allowed on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
  • Sundays: No outside watering permitted town-wide.
  • Time Limits: Watering is strictly limited to 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM.

STAGE FOUR

Includes all previous Stage restrictions.

Conditions: No water at Town Head Gate.

Required Actions:

  • Total Ban: No outside watering allowed.
  • This includes hand watering, potted plants, gardens, and trees.

VIOLATIONS & PENALTIES FEES

Failure to comply with the restrictions above will result in the following actions:

Subsequent Offenses

 $500.00 per occurrence

 

Enforcement and Penalty: Fee Notice of any violation will be issued via mail. The progression of enforcement is as follows:

  • First Violation: A formal written warning.
  • Subsequent Violations: The second, third, and any following violations will incur a penalty fee (listed above). Residents will be notified of these infractions via first class mail.

Payment Terms: Penalty fees will be added to the property owner’s monthly utility bill.
